I was introduced to iconography as a combination of spiritual practice and a creative art form in 1999 with Fr. Brendan McAnerney, OP. After attending several workshops with Father Brendan, I started studying with Fr. Peter Pearson. With both Father Brendan and with Peter, I worked with acrylic paints — adapting the medium to the iconographic style. Under Jackie Nelson, a Santa Fe iconographer, I've gone further with adapting acrylic paints and have started working with traditional egg tempera.

The icons that I've done are based upon traditional icons created by other iconographers — at times altering them as needed.

When commissioned, I pray for the person (or group) while creating the icon.
