I have developed online help systems for cloud-based applications, iOS apps, Windows desktop software, and Macintosh desktop software.

Web-based Application Help and Uncompiled HTML Help

I used BBEdit, RoboHelp, Flare, and other tools to develop help systems for Web sites, cloud-based applications, and for uncompiled HTML help systems (uncompiled HTML help or HTML5-based help). I've also worked with Confluence, Paligo, and desk.com as tools to present help information online.

Adform: Rewrote existing content and reviewed content written by others to make industry-standard documentation for a global audience. This was a major update to the company's existing online documentation.

Human Resource Systems Group: Updated and standardized preliminary help content in Confluence.

Adenzo: Created topics for a WordPress-based online help system.

The Foundry: Converted topics in a Dreamweaver-based online help system to import into Flare. Further edited the topics to adhere to current industry standards.

Glint: Created online topics and implemented the topics in desk.com.

John Galt Solutions, Inc.: Converted existing user guides from FrameMaker to MadCap Flare's WebHelp (and HTML5 Help). Edited existing content to adhere to industry-standard and grammatical conventions. Updated content for new features.

NM Department of Corrections: Created context-sensitive online help with RoboHelp for an internal Web-based application for the Corrections Department.

NM Department of Corrections: Created context-sensitive online help, which was single-sourced from training guide content I developed in RoboHelp, for an internal Web-based application for the Probation and Parole Division.

Preverify: Created online help for preverify.com with BBEdit.

Ijhana: Developed online help for administrators and content editors for a large Drupal-based, commerical multimedia site with BBEdit and other tools.

Sigaba Corporation: Developed online help for SigabaSecure Plug-ins and for working with the Sigaba Web site.

Jarna Corporation: Developed online help for Jarna's Web-based and WAP-based communication applications.

 

HTML Help

In general, I use RoboHelp to develop standalone HTML Help (.chm files) for Windows applications. I have also used WebWorks ePublisher to deliver help systems from FrameMaker source files. I have converted Apple Help (uncompiled HTML files) into .chm files with Microsoft HTML Workshop.

The help systems for Avanquest products were generated from FrameMaker source files with WebWorks ePublisher.

Shoreline Communications, Inc.: CSIS Help (telephony software), also a major revision for Personal Call Manager Help and a minor update for Workgroup Call Manager Help.

 

Apple Help

I use BBEdit, Dreamweaver, and other tools to develop Apple Help systems.

Nova Development Corp.: Art Explosion Greeting Card Factory for the Mac, Art Explosion T-Shirt Factory for the Mac, Food Network Recipe Manager, Hallmark Card Studio for the Mac, HGTV Home Design for the Mac, Photo Objects 150,000 and Print Explosion Deluxe.

In addition to the help systems, many of the Nova products include tutorials.

BriteMac LLC: VM2Go Help.

 

HTML-only Help

I supplied plain text with HTML coding for a developer to use within an HTML-based configuration system.

NETGEAR, Inc.: Created help topics for HTML-based configuration software used with RP614 4-Port Cable/DSL Web Safe Router Gateway.

 

WinHelp

I used RoboHELP to develop and update WinHelp for Windows applications.
